Super 8
Super 8 wedding films are back! A film format invented by Kodak in the 1960s, Super 8 was used primarily for home movies. Today, my clients are choosing to add Super 8 on to their wedding photography coverage for its nostalgic, low-fi aesthetic. My clients also love Super 8 because itβs meant to capture your day without intrusive direction.
As a minimalist approach to wedding videography, Super 8 pares your experience down to visuals alone. Super 8 cameras donβt have the capability to record sound, so I choose a song that matches the vibe of your wedding to carry the story along and set the tone.
Quality and mindfulness takes precedence over quantity and speed because each Super 8 film cartridge can only record up to three minutes of footage. It requires time, patience, and attention to detail β but the results are so worth it! I usually shoot 4-5 cartridges of footage and then edit it together for a 5-8 minute video that highlights what matters most to you.
